There are so many natural alternatives available to you if you want to turn your garden organic. You can build your garden as soon as you do some basic fundamental research.

Gradually acclimate plants to temperature changes and conditions, if you want to avoid shocking them. Start by placing your plants outside for a few hours only. Slowly, day after day, you can leave your plants outside for a little longer. Once the transition is complete, your plants will probably be able to tolerate the outdoor conditions.

TIP! To keep your plants from getting shocked, you need to gradually introduce them to changes in temperature and conditions. Put the plants outside in the sun for one to two hours in the beginning.

Use annuals and biennials to brighten your flower garden. By utilizing quick-growing biennials and annuals, not only will you be brightening up your flower bed, you can also alter its look each season and each year. You can fill any spaces between shrubs and perennials when they are in the sun. There are plenty of varieties including petunia, marigold, cosmos, sunflower, hollyhock, and rudbeckia.

Make sure to be weary of stink bugs whenever you garden, particularly during the fall months. They love to inhabit peppers, beans, tomatoes and all kinds of fruit varieties. If they are left in the garden, they can do great damage to your plants, so you should do whatever you can to eliminate them.

Keep your fragile shrubs protected from the winter weather. If you have a few potted shrubs, they should be shielded from the wintry weather. Join them together at the top, and use a blanket or old sheet to cover them. You will protect your shrubs from the cold without having to cover them in plastic, which can cause rot.

TIP! Select plant types that will bring a higher profits and yield. A plant that is resistant to disease, or one that is tolerant of extreme weather, will deliver a higher yield.

Ensure that your plants are kept dry, and aerated daily. If your plants are moist, this can attract disease and parasites. An example of a common plant parasite is fungi. Fungicide sprays can deal with fungal infestations, but they are most effective if you apply them before a fungus problem becomes noticeable.

Mint Leaves

Mint leaves are wonderful, but don’t you despise how quickly they can take over a garden due to rapid growth? You can control the growth of the mint leaves by growing them in a large container rather than in your garden. You can then plant the container down in the ground if you like, but the walls of the container will hold the roots captive, and keep the plant from taking over your garden!

TIP! Cover fences and walls with climbing plants. Climbing plants can cover a wall after one growing season only.

The water that is leftover from the steamed vegetables is great to pour over them. Try adding used coffee grounds to the soil around plants that grow in acidic soil. A natural cure for plant fungus is chamomile tea. Sprinkle some on the plant, and see if it works.

Many people try to garden, but if you do not know what you are doing, you will not see the best results. Make use of these organic horticulture tips.
