An organic garden is an interest you have. The timing is perfect, and it is time for you to begin. Below are a ton of wonderful tips to help you start an organic garden of your own.

Make garden tools do double duty as handy makeshift rulers. Tools with long handles, such as rakes, hoes, and shovels can be converted into handy measuring sticks. Lay the handles of said tools on the ground where it is flat and there is no interference, such as gravel, and stretch a measuring tape along one side. A permanent marker can be used to label distances. Now when you go to work in the garden, you will have a ruler that is large at your fingertips!

Climbing Plants

Climbing plants make a strong addition to walls, fences or other free-standing structures. Climbing plants can cover a wall after one growing season only. You don’t have to worry about removing trees between the climbing plants and the fence, because the trees don’t present obstacles to the climbers’ growth. Some people use climbers as a natural “ceiling” to arbors. Some of these plants must have support, and some can attach themselves to something using their stems and tendrils. Some climbers that have proven to be reliable are honeysuckle, jasmine, wisteria, clematis, and climbing roses.

You may be able to re-pot some plants to bring indoors for the winter. Your best bet would be try to save the best or most hearty plants. Dig carefully around their roots and place them into a pot.

TIP! A handy trick is to turn the handle on a tool that you use often into a makeshift ruler. You can use shovels or rakes as measuring sticks.

Choose the right soil for best results. Depending on the types of plants you would like to grow, your garden’s soil might need to be amended with different substances to alter drainage, acidity and other charactheristics that make plants happy. You may also cultivate an artificial area comprised of just one type of soil.

Plants need C02 for maximum growth. A higher level of CO2 will help plants grow better. A greenhouse will provide plants with an environment rich in carbon dioxide. Make sure to keep CO2 levels high to provide the best growing environment for your plants.

Try and maintain daily aerated and dried plants. Moisture not only attracts parasites, but also makes it easier for your plants to contract diseases. Fungi is a common problem in the world of plants. Fungus can be handled with sprays specifically formulated for fungi control, but you must treat the area with spray before seeing any kind of problems.

TIP! When fall arrives, it’s time to plant your autumn vegetables. This year, instead of using your regular clay pots to plant your kale and lettuce, use a pumpkin as the container instead! Cut an opening in the pumpkin and scoop the insides out.

With all of these ideas, you should be ready to excel at organic gardening. You have just learned a lot of great information. The advice you have received should get you well on your way to growing a lovely and productive organic garden.
