There are so many tools and methods to grow an all-natural, vibrant and healthy garden. Just learn some techniques, and put the ones that resonate with you into practice.

Using a shovel in clay soil is a lot of work, not only is the clay hard, but it will stick to the shovel and make it twice as hard to handle. Use a thin coat of floor or car wax on your shovel, then buff it with a nice clean cloth to make dealing with clay soil easier. This causes the clay to slide rather than stick, and prevents rust as a side effect.

TIP! Try planting your plants in flower pots first, then transferring them to your garden once they have had a bit of time to grow. Once the plant is hardy enough, plant it in your garden.

Turn the handles of your garden tools into measuring rulers. Large handled tools like rakes, hoes or shovels may be used like measuring sticks. Simply lay the handles out on the floor and run a measuring tape next to them. You can label distances using a permanent marker. When you decide to work in the garden again, you will now have a ruler at your disposal.

To grow properly, plants need adequate levels of CO2. Most plants will grow better with more CO2. Getting a greenhouse is the best way to get a higher amount. A greenhouse will help maintain a high level of CO2 and cause the plants to grow faster.

Soak seeds overnight, preferably in a cool, dark place. Use a small container filled with water to nearly the top and place several seeds in it. The water will hydrate the sends, giving them a head start once you plant them. This increases the chances of survival for the seeds.

TIP! To get the best results, you must use the right soil. Depending on what type of plants you have, your soil may or may not be adapted.

Mix the grounds of coffee in soil that has a lot of alkaline. Basically, the grounds resupply the soil with acid. This is one of the most inexpensive ways to achieve this result. This simple act can lead to vegetables that taste better and look more appealing.

Knee Pads

If you have many low-growing plants in your garden, get yourself a pair of gardening knee pads. The amount of time that you spend gardening on your knees can make your knees hurt by the time you are done. Buy yourself a pair of knee pads to use in the garden to cushion and protect your knees.

TIP! If your garden contains lots of short plants, purchase some gardening knee pads. Gardening can really put a lot of pressure on your knees that will leave you cramped and uncomfortable.

Protect your plants from moisture on a daily basis. Excess moisture creates an appealing environment for disease and parasites. Fungus infections are common in overly moist plants. Be sure to prevent the growth of fungus with a spray that will inhibit their growth.

While any person can make a garden, the people who know what they are doing will get the best results. These tips on organic horticulture are here to guide you on the right path.
