NBA Live 18 Review

Everything that takes place between the hoops in a basketball game has a certain fluidity to it. Whether it’s James Harden rocketing past defenders in a fast break or LeBron James backing down a defender in the post, this is a game of style. And even though NBA Live 18 fails to establish a versatile set of modes to sustain interest, it’s able to mimic basketball’s style, fluidity, and intensity.

Relative to other NBA games, Live 18’s controls are pretty simplified, and it didn’t take longer than a game or two to get the hang of things. If a player hits the lane at full speed you can expect them to throw down a dunk or layup without more than a button press on your part. If you want to pull up for a three-pointer, the player will do just that, too. This grants a certain feeling of control over their motion, but once they’re in the air, they’ve also got minds of their own. Past that, NBA Live 18 won’t throw many surprises at you. Once you’ve pressed the command to do something, the players execute it.

H1Z1 Dev: “There Wouldn’t Be PUBG Without H1Z1”

I recently spoke with H1Z1 developer Daybreak about the latest update to its battle royale shooter H1Z1: King of the Kill and the runaway success of its competitor PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

When asked how PUBG’s success has affected H1Z1’s development, Game Manager Anthony Castoro told me that “there wouldn’t be a PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds if there wasn’t an H1Z1.” He followed up by saying that “there’s room for this genre to expand,” and believes PUBG is “creating an opportunity” for H1Z1 to reach a larger audience that it otherwise wouldn’t.

EA Teases Battlefront 2 Galactic Assault Locations

New Battlefront II locations for Galactic Assault will be revealed soon.

Electronic Arts took to Twitter  to tease which planets might be featured in the upcoming sequel, asking fans to begin decoding its cryptic message, currently shown as a bunch of question marks.

Galactic Assault is a large-scale team-based multiplayer mode in Battlefront II that spans all three Star Wars trilogies and contains specific objectives tailor-made to each setting. One of the locations, Naboo: Theed, was unveiled at EA Play earlier this year . Walker Assault from the first Battlefront is also confirmed to return as Galactic Assault on Hoth.

Reddit User Reveals Cross-Platform Play Bug in Fortnite

Cross-platform play is something various game companies have experimented with over the past few years, and over the weekend Fortnite players on PS4 and Xbox One got to experience it as the result of a network issue.

The issue was first discovered by Reddit user “PRE_-CISION-_” who noticed something strange while playing Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode on his PS4. He was killed by a user named “zCypher Nine” a tag that would be impossible to create on PSN because it contained a space.

Intrigued by his discovery, PRE_-CISION-_ switched over to his Xbox One and did some digging, quickly discovering a user with the same name on Xbox Live, as well as a teammate that zCypher had been playing with. PRE_-CISION-_ documented his evidence in a Reddit post , which contains Twitch clips and screenshots of his discoveries.

Dishonored: Death of the Outsider Review

By the very nature of its roots in the amazing Dishonored 2, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider was already well on its way to being a great game. I was overjoyed to drop back into the city of Karnaca and try on a new set of supernatural assassin abilities, even if the things I did there weren’t quite as compelling this time around.

Death of the Outsider puts you in control of the charming but troubled Billie Lurk, who is helping her now old and dying mentor Daud get revenge on the black-eyed god behind all the magic happenings since the Dishonored series began: the Outsider. It aims to tie a neat little bow on the story arc that started with Jessamine Kaldwin’s murder in the first Dishonored, though it’s unusually light on story itself.
