Alexis and her husband Walt moved to his hometown of Houston from NYC almost five years ago to start a family. Walt, a former professional photographer, fulfilled a dream of his to become a fireman. Alexis, an interior designer, was nervous but excited about rooting down in The Woodlands, a large suburb outside of Houston. The allure of a quiet, wooded neighborhood appealed to Alexis and her husband, having come from living a fast-paced life in New York City. Over the last four years, Alexis has worked hard to replace the builder-grade features that came with her home with her personal aesthetic. One of her biggest needs is the space to create her homewares line Alexis Sassard , comprised of gorgeous linens and striking fiber wall hangings, among other endeavors.
