Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition Review

Have you ever heard the saying, “There’s no such thing as bad pizza?” No matter what, pizza’s good by virtue of being pizza. A similar thing could be said for the many different versions of Minecraft. There really isn’t such a thing as “bad Minecraft,” just versions that aren’t as good as the others. That’s why, in spite of its many shortcomings, the New 3DS version is still an enjoyable Minecraft experience, even though it’s not a great version.

Fitting Minecraft onto the New 3DS is not without its sacrifices, and if nothing else, those sacrifices make up the biggest problems with this new portable version. Graphically, it’s unmistakably Minecraft, but draw distance takes a major blow. I found my time in my Minecraft world almost claustrophobic, even on the surface. I had to make sure to pay close attention to my map early on because if I got a few dozen blocks away from my shelter, it would disappear into the fog. Draw distance looks to be about five chunks, putting it on par with the Vita version. It definitely hindered my desire to explore my surroundings and risk being unable to find my way back home.

Hidden Switch NES Emulator Pays Tribute to Satoru Iwata

The recently discovered NES emulator hidden in every Nintendo Switch console actually serves as an incredible tribute to Satoru Iwata.

As detailed on the Switchbrew wiki  (via Ars Technica ), Switch hacker yellows8 discovered the “official” way to unlock the emulator and a modified copy of 1984’s NES Golf, which can only be done on July 11, the same day the fourth president and CEO of Nintendo passed away in 2015 .

Tomb Raider: Alicia Vikander on Filming Endurance Ship Wreck

The first trailer for 2018’s Tomb Raider offers our first real taste of how the movie will adapt the recent video games. Star Alicia Vikander certainly looks the part of Lara Croft, but as she revealed to us in a recent interview, things got pretty challenging on set while filming one of the most iconic sequences from the 2013 game.

The movie will feature its own take on of the sinking of the Endurance – the disaster that leaves Lara stranded and forced to fend for herself on a remote, deadly island. Vikander revealed to IGN that this sequence actually posed the most difficult physical challenge during filming. Make sure to check out our full video interview with Vikander:

“We did a lot of stunts and a lot of preparation – both me and my incredible stunt girls that I was working with,” Vikander said. “We were quite bruised, with a lot of hits. That’s tough, but that’s okay. The trickiest thing of all, I think, while shooting this film is actually the cold that comes from being in the water for hours and hours and hours.”

Exploring The Possibilities Of Home Improvement Projects

No matter how expensive or grand a house is, there is always something that can be improved. You might be avoiding home improvement work, due to what you imagine are prohibitive costs and high levels of required expertise. If that is your reasoning, get some advice in the article that follows.

Add elegance to your home with a unique addition. Think of dedicated rooms for uncommon purposes, such as a classy billiard parlor (instead of a mere game room) or a well-appointed wine cellar. You and your guests will enjoy these touches, as may future potential buyers.

TIP! If your plans for your home involve significant renovations or remodeling, it is typically best to hire an architect or professional designer. Unless you or a family member has professional design training, any plans you create are likely to be all form and no function.

Plain lampshades can make your whole room look boring. A basic and available source for personalizing your shades is a combination of stencils and paint; use them in a creative way to make your own designs directly onto the shade. By doing this, you will give your house a better look with more personality.

To stop squeaks, use construction adhesive. You will need to work out of your basement or a crawlspace, but it would be worth the effort. What you do is use a caulking gun, then run a line down every floor joist. That way, your floor all sticks together.

Poke Holes

TIP! Have all the changes you intend to make mapped out before you start your project. If you create a detailed plan, you will be far more likely to complete your project in a timely, affordable manner.

To save yourself some aggravation, poke holes in your paint can’s rim. This will prevent paint from filling the channels of the metal paint cans, and as a result they will not spill when you replace the cover. Using a nail, poke holes around the top of the can to allow the paint to drain into the can.

You can keep bugs out of your home and save money on the costs of heating and cooling your home, by sealing off any cracks or other openings around the perimeter of your home. Add sealants or caulk around windows, doors and baseboards. Once the caulk is dry, air will be sealed in, and bugs will be sealed out.

Make sure that you utilize all the space in a home when you plan to sell it. A family room must have the right accessories and furniture; this should also be the case with an office. By making these arrangements, you are making it easier for prospective buyers to share your vision. Your house will be more attractive to buyers and that increases your chances of selling.

TIP! Paint and spackle can cover the holes left in your walls after you have hung pictures or paintings. Spackle can be purchased at your local home-improvement store.

Most people prefer having a shower installed in the bathroom, which means you should consider adding one if there is not one present. Showers are much more accessible than tubs, plus they can really reduce your water use, particularly if you have a lot of children. The numbers don’t lie. A quick shower consumes only 25% of the water that a full bathtub does.

When you make home improvements, you make improvements to your quality of life as well. There are plenty of projects you can do that won’t break the bank. These small projects can make a huge difference. Whether you have small or large projects in mind, the tips found in this article will surely raise your house’s value.
