If you wish to speak to people, cell phones may be the only way. But, staying updated on cell phones is not simple. Bluetooth, touchscreens, and many other features are requiring many to become better able to use these devices. This article teaches you what you need to know about cell phones.

Your cell phone won’t be toast when dropped into water. Instead, take the battery out and put the phone inside a bowl full of rice. The rice will naturally attract any moisture from within.

TIP! Restart your phone every now and then to clear its memory. Performing this function is the best way to ensure that the phone is working at optimum levels at all times.

Keep in mind that smartphones do get slower as they age. Updating software can minimize this issues. These updates tend to get bigger and more powerful. In just a few years, the upgrades may eventually be too much for the old phones.

Smartphone owners tend to be tied to their phones. You should not leave it on for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This keeps your phone working well. You will want it to get restarted once in a while. With just a simple restart, you can really see a difference in your cell phone.

Is your battery life too short? It’s likely that your signal is low. Weak signals can drain batteries. When you are not using your phone, do not store it where you don’t have a signal, such as a drawer or closet.

TIP! Be careful if you watch videos while using LTE or 4G. Your data allowance won’t be very high.

Be aware of extended warranties. Generally, these added costs are nothing more than that. If a cell phone is going to fail, it typically happens in the first year which is normally covered by the basic warranty. Plus, many people opt for new cell phones annually, so the extended warranty is then definitely not worth your time.

Never allow your cell phone to go near water. A lot of people make a mistake from time to time and drop their phone into water which ruins it. Ideally, don’t even place your phone anywhere near water. Even if you don’t consider yourself clumsy, there is a chance that an accident can occur.

There is no harm in checking out all of your options. Keep your mind open to trying out new kinds of screen layouts and interfaces. There may be a lot more function out there that you don’t realize.

TIP! Be aware that smartphones actually slow down in performance over time. Software updates will keep your phone running well.

Don’t let your phone completely die before you charge it. The battery in your cell phone is designed to be periodically recharged. They don’t hold their charge well if you allow them to die on a regular basis. Thus, see if you can charge the battery much earlier in the process.

Make sure to take care of your cell phone. They are quite costly little devices. Buy a screen protector to avoid scratching on your phone’s screen. Additionally, a hard case will protect your phone against drops and dings.

We all have to talk to others it seems, and that means we have to keep up with the technology that’s out there. This article should have introduced you to plenty of helpful tips and tricks. Now you should be ready to use that phone to its full potential!
