You desire a vibrant and healthy organic garden. What great timing. Below are a ton of wonderful tips to help you start an organic garden of your own.

To keep your plants from getting shocked, you need to gradually introduce them to changes in temperature and conditions. You need to give them about an hour of sunlight during the first day. Over the course of a week, slowly increase the amount of time that you leave them outside. By the weekend, the plants can make that big move without a problem!

TIP! Do not plant perennials that are prone to snail infestation. Creatures like snails or slugs can destroy a plant in a single night.

Pull all the weeds in your garden. Weeds steal nutrients from plants, robbing a garden of its potential harvest. Try using white vinegar to get rid of weeds. White vinegar is natural, very inexpensive, and can really kill the weeds! If you’re annoyed with pulling up weeds manually, douse them with a white vinegar solution.

If you find that you have soil that has high amounts of alkaline, mix used coffee grounds throughout the soil. This is a great and cheap way to increase the acid levels in your dirt. This simple act can lead to vegetables that taste better and look more appealing.

Always have a plan for the garden prior to the start of planting it. This is a good way to remember which plants have been planted in each area before they grow. It can also aid in identifying the less prominent fledgling plants that lie withing a larger landscaped garden.

TIP! Use both biennials and annuals to add color to your flower bed. Fast-growing annuals and biennials can brighten up a flower bed, and allow you to change the look from season to season and year to year.

Plant with autumn colors in mind. Fortunately, this doesn’t have to be. When it comes to brightly colored foliage, fall is an amazing time of year. Maple trees can range from beautiful reds and yellows in addition to Beech or Dogwood trees. Some vibrant shrubs include hydrangea, barberry, and cotoneaster.

You can spray scents such as after-shave and cologne around your garden to deter your dog. This will work to mask any scent that is attracting dogs, and will make the garden a much less interesting place to for dogs to be.

Avoid getting an infection by not allowing dirt and other chemicals to get into open wounds. If you have an open cut while gardening, contact with dirt or debris can infect the wound. There are bandages out there now that can seal cuts completely.

TIP! Try using climber plants to cover up your fences and walls. Climbing plants are extremely versatile, helping to hide an ugly fence or wall, often within one growing season.

If slugs are an issue in your garden, a beer trap can make them go away. Take a glass jar and bury it in your garden, making sure that the lip of the jar is even with the soil. Pour beer into the container to within an inch of the jar lip. The slugs will be attracted to the beer and will end up being trapped within the confines of the jar.
