Are you familiar with your cellular phone? Most cell phone users really do not. There are a variety of techniques that you can learn. This guide has good ideas that will help you use your cell phone better.

Your cell phone won’t be toast when dropped into water. Take the battery out and put your phone in a bag with rice. This will remove some of the excess moisture inside.

TIP! If your phone gets dropped into water, do not panic and think that it is ruined. The best thing to do would be to remove the battery and place the phone in a bowl of rice.

Careful about watching video when you are using 4G or LTE signal. Your cell phone probably has an allowance for the data you can use. Video goes through your data quickly, so you might get charged a lot very quickly. If you do end up going over, look into a new plan.

Smartphones slow down when they get older. Downloading software updates can keep them from becoming outdated. That said, the updates tend to get bigger and more powerful. That means your old phone might not be capable of handling these upgrades.

If you have a smartphone, you may use it frequently during the day. It is however important to reboot it regularly. In this way, they are like computers. Reboots allow the memory to clear and keeps the phone running faster. With just a simple restart, you can really see a difference in your cell phone.

TIP! Be careful when you’re watching a video using LTE or 4G signals. You’ve likely got a cap on the data you can use each month.

Don’t get fooled by an extended warranty offer. These additional costs are typically just that and nothing more. If they are going to occur, problems with a cell phone are likely to show up in the first year while the basic warranty is still in effect. Also, lots of folks get new phones ever year, so extended coverage is useless.

Consider whether you need a smart phone. Though smartphones can be pricy, you get what you pay for. The reality is that some people only need a phone to make basic calls. If this is you, purchasing a smartphone could be unnecessary for you. Doing this may not be wise.

Purchase a brand new cell phone at least every few years. New cell phones use the latest technology, and a lot of websites utilize their top of the line processing power. This means you will not have the best experience if you have an older phone.

TIP! Remember that smartphones slow down as they age. Updating software can minimize this issues.

Playing mobile games can cure boredom and add some much needed excitement to your day. Smartphones have lots of great games available to play. Don’t overload your phone with games since this can reduce your memory.

Keeping up with cell phones isn’t easy. With any luck, the insights provided here will make your cell phone use easier and more enjoyable. This may be difficult but is definitely something that you can do.
