Are you knowledgeable about the cell phone you have? The vast majority of people do not. There’s just so much information out there to sort through. This article has some great ideas that will making using your cell phone a much better experience.

Remember to restart your cellphone every now and then to remove memory stored from programs such as Twitter and Facebook. That way, your phone will exhibit much better performance.

TIP! Ensure that you are restarting your cell phone occasionally. This will clear memory caches that are being filled by apps such as Twitter or Facebook.

If you phone gets wet, it isn’t necessarily beyond repair. The best thing you could do is to take the battery out and place your phone into a bowl that has dry rice. Doing so soaks up excess moisture that may have seeped into your smartphone.

If you’re on LTE or 4G, beware watching videos. Most likely, you have a monthly data allowance that comes with your cellphone plan. Video can quickly go through the allowance and charge you more quickly. If this is a problem for you, consider switching to a different plan tailored to your needs.

You can call information without paying the fees generally associated with it. The best thing that you can do is by dialing 1-800-411-FREE. You can access the information you’re seeking after an advertisement.

TIP! If you drop your cell phone into liquid, do not assume that it is no longer any good and toss it away. Remove your phone’s battery and put your cell phone into a bowl full of rice.

As your phone gets older, it will begin running more slowly. Downloading software updates can prevent a phone from really becoming obsolete. However, newer models come out that require more powerful upgrades. This means the phone ou have had for a while might not be able to handle them.

If you do have a smartphone, you are probably utilizing the device quite often. But, you should turn your phone off once in awhile. Smart phones are similar to computers. You are helping your memory and the phone itself by restarting it. Even if you only restart your phone once or twice weekly, you are likely to see improvements.

Watch out for extended warranties. These costs that are additional just cost you money and nothing else. If your cell phone is bound to have an issue, it will probably occur during the original warranty period. Also, lots of folks get new phones ever year, so extended coverage is useless.

TIP! Don’t always get the newest phone. It isn’t always worth it.

Also go into the store and look at various cell phone models before picking one. Spend a few hours using various models while you test the features they have. In this way, you stand a far better chance of buying a phone you actually love to use.

If you want to buy a smartphone, be sure it’s what you need first. They cost a lot, but provide many features. The truth is, though, that a lot of users only want to talk on their phone. If that describes you, buying a smartphone means a higher initial investment, as well as a higher priced monthly fee. This is not a choice you may want to make.

Keeping up to date with cell phones is no small feat. Hopefully, you’ve learned new things that you could use to help you enjoy the phone you’re using. They might seem like they’re hard to deal with, but if you have good advice you can do a lot with the device you have.
