A “Happy Californian Golden Girls Greenhouse” Apartment — House Tour

Name: Jane
Location: Noe Valley — San Francisco, California
Size: 1,100 square feet
Years lived in: 1 year

When Jane mentioned she only had a few weeks left in her San Francisco apartment before she moved back to Chicago, I knew I had to preserve her beautiful, refreshing home through photos. What makes her home unique is the mixture of items and styles that can only be described as “Happy Californian,” such as the bedroom wallpaper inspired by greenery, the mid-century modern furniture and paintings, and the gorgeous vaulted ceilings that make her smile every day.

“Flea Market Chic” Modern Style in the Philippines — House Tour

Name: Jar and Kay (and their 5-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter)
Location: Quezon City, Philippines
Size: 375 square meters
Years lived in: Owned 3 months

Jar writes: “This is my wife and I’s first house together. We worked closely with our architect [Denise De Castro of DDC-Vida] to achieve a sustainable structure that would cater to a growing family. We were able to incorporate a lot of natural light and ventilation with a pocket garden in the middle of the home. We also have a rainwater harvest system that saves water for garden use. I’m a photographer and the architect wanted the house to be a ‘museum of light’ so she intentionally had light enter every room a different way. Solar panels also help us save on our electric bill.”

A Colorful, Globally Eclectic Toronto Apartment — House Tour

Name: Dana Haddad
Location: Corktown, Toronto
Size: 750 square feet
Years lived in: Owned 1 year

For as long as she can remember, Dana has had a love for interiors and is known for decorating (and redecorating!) her space. Not expecting to move to Toronto’s East End or to purchase a condo, after walking into this space and seeing the trees in the distance she was sold! Originally from the Middle East, Dana’s global style is influenced by colour, ornate wares, layers of textiles and memories of travel. While growing up Dana and her mother would go shopping at local markets to hunt for beautiful rugs, textiles and home accessories and to this day, it remains their favorite pastime!

Location: Fort Greene — Brooklyn, New York
Size: 400 square feet

Emily’s apartment is all the proof you need that living in a small space doesn’t have to mean going short on style, and that with a little ingenuity a smaller space can live just as well as a much larger one. She’s fit a full-sized bed, a comfy living room, plenty of storage, and even a full-sized dining table into her 400 square foot studio apartment in Brooklyn — and made it all look so good that you’ll want to move in yourself.
