Max Heinritz, a software developer living in San Francisco, never thought of himself as much of a DIYer, until he was faced with the challenge of creating a costume for a little party he was going to (that little party being Burning Man). The success of this creation opened up all kinds of new possibilities for him: he realized that, “if I want something, I can figure out how to make it.” He’s applied this same scrappy, do-it-yourself attitude to the design of his 678-square-foot loft, creating a space that’s as creative as it is efficient.
